Snowy Day

We've enjoyed a rare accumulation of snow this afternoon and evening. It's the most snow our kids have ever seen and the most we've seen in years. It's also the first snow we've had since living in this house, and it makes the house and yard look beautiful. The limbs on our white pine out front are touching the ground, weighted down with and inch or two of heavy wet snow. A few large limbs have actually cracked and fallen. We got in a little sledding on a swim innertube in our front yard before it got dark. The yard slopes just enough to make it perfectly fun for one and two year olds.

Here are some photos of our exciting Southern snow!

Happy Valentine's Day

A few days early, but I was looking through some pictures and found this sweet one of my girls from last year. They're not smiling, but in a way it really captures their personalities. Lindley is a great big sister, sensitive but loves being in charge. Maysie is happy and laid back, easygoing. Having two kids so close together has been challenging to say the least, but so rewarding. Now, at 1 and 2 years old, they play together and entertain each other. They snatch toys and make each other cry, but hearing them laugh together brings tears to my eyes. Hearing them giggle is the most beautiful sound and it makes all of the challenges worthwhile.

Learning How To Blog

This post is a test post. I've enjoyed regularly reading the blogs of others lately, and thought I might try it myself.
